{"id":2377,"date":"2013-09-10T18:01:55","date_gmt":"2013-09-10T23:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/synapse9.com\/signals\/?p=2377"},"modified":"2013-09-11T09:45:55","modified_gmt":"2013-09-11T14:45:55","slug":"a-commons-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/synapse9.com\/signals\/a-commons-is\/","title":{"rendered":"A \u201cCommons\u201c is&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 align=\"center\">A \u201cCommons\u201c<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8230;.Is a place, where<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>An organic culture<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>defines and makes its home<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>as its defensible and public space<\/li>\n<li>for its communities of participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>serving as a \u201chive\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>for its internal relationships<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>usually as inclusive and equitable interconnections<\/li>\n<li>(everyone to everyone)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>serving as a \u201chub\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0for its external relationships<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>with its local niche of \u00a0ecological partners<\/li>\n<li>with its open environment<\/li>\n<li>(exploratory connections)<\/li>\n<li>with and networks of remote exclusive connections<\/li>\n<li>(one to one)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>As its \u201cNiche\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0in the world and \u201cliving space\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2026 for example<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A \u201cbody\u201d \u00a0\u00a0is a commons\u00a0for its cells<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>But bodies are organized differently than their cells, each needing to be part of a different culture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A \u201ctown\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0is a commons for its villagers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>But every town develops from its unique circumstance, so the usual patterns associated with the words are really questions about the individual thing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A \u201cnest\u201d \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0is a commons for its family or swarm<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Living things need to sleep, and make secure places where they can \u201ctune out\u201d at night, to reemerge refreshed.<\/li>\n<li>and so too the organizations of a commons, that come to a rest at night, to awake refreshed by the reflections of rest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Earth \u00a0 is a commons for life<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">__________<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>The \u201cCulture\u201d occupying the Commons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><b>\u00a0 \u2026is &lt;&lt; a different thing&gt;&gt;<\/b><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>the organization that develops<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the\u00a0<b>physical interrelationships<\/b>\u00a0of its parts\n<ul>\n<li>the animated, eventful and energy using\u00a0<b>physical parts<\/b>\u00a0and processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>the\u00a0<b>virtual relationships<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>as artifacts of the living physical relationships, left as\u00a0<b>virtual parts<\/b>\u00a0in the life patterns of its organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">with<\/span> the \u201ccommon language\u201d we develop<\/strong>, for their internal and external relationships,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a \u201c<b>virtual organization<\/b>\u201d for their \u201c<b>physical\u201d organization\u201d<\/b><\/li>\n<li>with the natural \u00a0\u201c<b>meanings of the words<\/b>\u201d in direct relationship with the \u201c<b>organization of \u00a0the things<\/b>\u201d the words refer to;<\/li>\n<li>As a \u201c<b>direct relationship<\/b>\u201d\u00a0<b>between words and things<\/b>, developing along with the organization of the culture by\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<i>accumulating \u00a0life experience<\/i>\u00a0with<\/li>\n<li><i>the things of the Commons and Nature<\/i>,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>as people explore\u00a0LIVING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>by discovering and developing their physical relationships with the webs of the commons and of nature<\/li>\n<li>and their understanding of the \u201ctrue meanings\u201d of words and \u201cmeanings of life\u201d the words refer to<\/li>\n<li>as the connection of the physical things and experiences of life,<\/li>\n<li>both making words into connected parts of the natural world and serving to ground and enrich the meanings of language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">JLH 9\/10\/13<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\">Related Tweet&#8217;s on the nature of &#8220;sleep&#8221;
